Emerging Manager Guidebook
This session explores the breadth and depth of the emerging manager landscape across four alternative asset types: private equity, hedge funds, real estate and infrastructure. Using data derived from multiple sources, including meetings with many thousands of fund managers over the past decade, the presentation addresses topics such as how many emerging funds exist, what strategies they pursue, where they come from, and how they are (or not) raising capital. To provide context to the data, we give an overview of the broader alternatives universe and how emerging managers fit in that universe, including with respect to institutional investor allocation trends. Finally, the presentation reviews the universe of emerging manager capital and programs, and explores potential trends for the future.
